How do you capture four years of anticipation, a three-day euphoric celebration, and a feeling of pure magic? It is nearly impossible, but this is the story of when Malin and Joakim let family history write a brand new, glittering chapter.
When you know, you know. There are moments in life when everything beautifully falls into place, and for Malin and Joakim, the 7th of June 2025 was exactly such a moment.
It is a perfect early summer day. The warm air drifts inland, carrying with it the scent of salt-spun winds from the island of Ven.
Joakim looks his bride-to-be in the eyes, and all around them, the castle gardens vibrate with anticipation. Ever since Joakim popped the question back in 2021, this very place has been the anchor in all their conversations, dreams, and wedding plans. And the choice of venue was anything but a coincidence.
Malin was born and raised in Helsingborg, a mere 30-minute drive from Maryhill. But it is Joakim’s roots that make the ground they stand upon feel alive with history. It was, in fact, Joakim’s great-great-grandfather — the visionary industrialist Carl Tranchell — who once commissioned and built the magnificent castle that now grandly unfolds behind them. Five generations of the Tranchell family later, they stand right here, hand in hand. The circle is complete. History has come home.
Planning a wedding is a journey in itself
…and amidst the endless choices, it is easy to lose sight of yourselves. When we asked Malin and Joakim to share their absolute best advice for couples who are currently in the thick of planning, they answered without a moment’s hesitation: “It is incredibly easy to get overwhelmed by all the decisions and details. Our best tip is to sit down together and agree on the three things that matter most to you. Dare to trust your intuition, go with your gut feeling, and make this truly your day — nobody else’s.“
They also shared a piece of wisdom that perfectly captures what a wedding ultimately drills down to: “Are you going to have your closest friends and family there? Perfect. Because when the day finally arrives, that is all that matters. It isn’t the decor, the venue, or the perfect florist that creates the celebration. It’s the people that make the wedding. Always have, always will.“
